* My name is SarahJane, and I am a senior journalism major at Georgia Southern University. I originally started “This Week in the World” as a column every Thursday in my campus newspaper, The George-Anne. After a few weeks I decided this topic would fit better as a blog than a column, so we made one and here I am.
*I started writing this column because I wanted the GSU student body to be more aware of the events unfolding beyond the narrow scope of our university. Campus coverage is great, but if you never take the time to realize what is going on outside of your university then how will you be able to function as a contributing member of society? The world is a big place, and I’m just one person, but I hope I can offer a unique outlook for somebody out there.
